Work sucks
Yeah, I've known this for awhile, but it really does. I hate that it is such a grown up and responsible thing to do. I hate that it is stealing years of my life from me. I do however love the whole getting paid thing which I get to do tomorrow. Yay. I usually don't mind work too much, actually, but I just have so much else to do. I have to pack up everything in my house to move and I have to sort through absolutely everything first. I have so much homework piling up. I need to spend some time with my friends before I leave. I have to get all my loose ends tied. I have to figure what all I need to transfer to my new city and everything else that goes with moving. Plus I need to find a new job. Grrr...why is life so difficult? Oh well, once I'm out of this town and settled in my new town things should be better, I hope. Enough about that I guess, how about some fun info from work today. So I felt like crap today, but did I get to leave early, no, someone who always leaves early got to go. I like this girl and all but sometimes it annoys me that she goes home early almost every day, whereas I ask to leave once or twice because I don't feel well and I can't. After she left, though, the craziness started. Some old lady crapped herself and one of my managers had to clean it up. Yuck, thank goodness I didn't have to. This just proves my theory that most old people should be living in homes and escorted at all times. I don't care about this affecting me because I am not planning on living that long. I think it's the unselfish thing to do. I'm sorry, but after reading Brave New World, I almost think that's the way to go. Anyway enough about crazy old people. This other lady who wasn't that old came through drive thru and took about two minutes to count out her money and another two minutes to put it away. We have timers so she pretty much ruined our time. This isn't the end of that though, she also when she got her food(which had been waiting for her since she got up to the window)proceeded to pull the food out and start to eat it(at the window still). My manager was so pissed and I would have been too. She gave us a bad time. I also can't believe how many people think our food is already prepared("Do you have any broccoli potatos made?" "No, but we could make one for you.") Other people think that we don't make the food until they get to the window and pay("Can you tell them not to put mayo on my sandwich?" "Um, they already have it made, we make them as soon as you order them.") And the people who think we are McDonald's or Burger King are just funny("Can I get some Chicken Mcnuggets?" or "Can I get a Whopper?"-where do you see that on the menu? Did you look at the sign of the place you were pulling into?") I don't know, I think people are starting to be trained on what to say by commercials or something. They don't even look at the menu anymore. My favorite customer of the day today had some interesting interpretations of the menu. "I'm ordering all this from the dollar menu, okay?(yeah, but we don't have a dollar menu anymore)I want the sour cream and onion potato chives, the Chicken McNuggets, the junior burger with the bacon, and a strawberry shake." "Sorry we don't have strawberry shakes, we do have chocolate frostys, though." "Ok." Brilliant, I say brilliant. I know you may not be familiar with my work's menu, but not one thing was recited from the menu correctly, not even the price. We had to laugh at that one.
