Frustruating phone call
Yesterday I got out of work early so I could make all the calls I needed to make to transfer my information to my new city. Everything went fine until I made my last phone call which was to my internet provider. I have never been so frustruated over a phone call in my life. The woman on the phone could not for the life of her understand my relatively clear midwestern accent. I swear I had to spell to her St. Cloud about 10 times. I even spelled it as Saint Cloud to make sure she understood me and as slowly as I thought should be necessary. When she repeated it back to me several times after me saying no, c-l-o-u-d she said c-o-l-u-t and c-l-o-u-t and c-o-u-d. I was like no, it's cloud, like those things in the sky which she didn't seem to have a clue what I was talking about still. She couldn't tell what the name of the street I was living on was either, which most people just ask if there is an "e" at the end. Another frustruating thing was that after every word I said, not sentence, but word, she said ok, thank you. I was like let me finish speaking, please. I'm lucky enough that I do remember my new address without confusing it with my old one when reciting it as one thing, that it wasn't that easy to stop and start again after every word. What was a pain, too is after all that she told me that if anything was wrong I could just change it on my computer. I was like why didn't you tell me that I could have just done it on the computer in the first place instead of going through this ordeal with you. The only reason I called anyway was to find out what to do when I moved and she answered that almost right away, but made me do the other crap that I didn't have to do yet or with her. Grrr.
