Festivities

So this weekend was pretty busy being that not one, but two local festivals were going on. We jumped back and forth from our town to the next over Thursday thru Saturday. And I did not go back home for the one there, though I always have in the past. It seems like everytime I go back for it I either don't see a soul I know or else someone sees me and starts a new rumor. So as fun as that sounded I passed. Anyway, back here we went to the Lemonade Art Fest where Jade made some pretty cool projects in the children's area. Christina and her daughter were with us at first until they had to go home and then Ben showed up a little later. We had cheese curds and cinnamon roasted pecans, yum. We stayed until we thought we would pass out from all the sunlight and then went home. On Friday we went to the parade in the next town over which was at 6 and and ended at 8. It was pretty decent-a lot more people than I expected, though, for it being such a small town. Jade had to hug every mascot in the parade. After the parade was over we ran back to our town for the end of the block party they were having and Jade got to go down one of the giant inflatables once before they closed it down. We had some awesome teriyaki chicken before they closed up so now we've got a new chinese place to go to. The next day was our parade so we went to that and it was just as big as the other parade. Jade now has tons of candy which we are going to bring with us to the concert this weekend to give away. After the parade was over we went to the Paramount to see a juggling show and then Mary Poppins. Jade really seemed to enjoy both. After the movie was over we ran over to the next town for their food festival and we bought Jade some ride tokens. Since it was kind of rainy out by then there wasn't much of a turnout. Jade wanted to ride the ponies and got to ride then for a really long time because there wasn't really any other kids around. She also went on a couple of the big inflatables and we got a pretty good strawberry shake. After we ran out of tokens we went home because it looked like it was going to rain again. Some drunk guy spilled part of his beer on Jade on the way out so I guess it was good we were leaving.
