It's interesting when it's in your home
Last week a group of my coworkers, Jade and I went out for Chinese buffet. It was definately an interesting experience as it should have been since I don't think any of us would have a problem pleading insanity in court. The one chick had never had Chinese before and was asking what everything was. I don't remember if I did that the first time I had it or not. I just know that my boyfriend at the time in 10th grade was amazed that I had never had Chinese before. I probably just grabbed the things I deemed edible because some of the food, sorry to say, looks like worms and stuff and I still can't eat it even if people say it's good. Which is why it is very interesting that a coworker and I dared each other to try the sushi. It was so gross and we accidentally grabbed wasabi with it, but thankfully we were warned of this before actually ingesting the wasabi. I now know that I do not like seaweed or raw fish or icky rice with orange stuff on it. Anyway after we were done and Jade announced to almost the whole restaurant that she had to go poop we went out to the parking lot to talk some before heading off. This seems to be a typical thing for my coworkers and I to do considering a few of stayed in the parking lot at Space Invaders for over two hours after a work party a little while back. We stayed out there for about an hour or so, I mean people who had arrived after we got out to the parking lot were leaving. We then decided that be better either head our seperate ways or make plans so we decided to go to my house for liquor and a movie. After putting Jade to bed the festivities began. I just drank some of my amaretto while the other had vodka and beer. We watched Preaching to the Perverted because this one chick thought it was a total porn, but it isn't really, just a maybe NC-17 movie. She was terribly disappointed that they didn't show the actual sex going on and kept asking what was going to happen next and when it was going to get better. I enjoy this movie the way it is, it has the same effect for me as a romance novel so her behavior was kind of bugging the crap out of me. Anyway she was really intoxicated at this point and was getting loud and stepping on and falling over my stuff. I didn't really want her to be there anyway since I didn't know her as well as the other two and they knew how to behave a little better. When she complained about not being able to drive home, I didn't offer her a place to stay. Especially since she had casually mentioned feeling like she was going to throw up and I had to get up very early the next day. Thankfully the other chick who was there offered her place so I didn't have to worry about it. Otherwise it was a pretty fun evening and I got to know the other two a whole lot better, well I guess I got to know not to get this other chick drunk ever again, too. The next morning I woke up after six hours of sleep because I was going to the Mall of America with one of my friends from the night before. I haven't been there in a few years, but I still could find my way to the things we needed to go to and not get lost. This was Jade's first time there, I hope she was impressed with it. We went to Underwater World first and Jade loved watching the sharks swim over her head. She also had fun posing for pictures and she pet the sting rays over and over again. She wasn't even scared when they splashed. After that we headed to Camp Snoopy and made a pit stop at Lego Land where I got Jade a couple of things. We all got unlimited ride wristbands and made good use of them. Since Jade was too short for a lot of the rides, though she wasn't definately brave enough, we ended up going on a lot of the kiddy rides. I felt kind of silly riding in little cars and trains and stuff, but Jade had fun so that's all that matters. I thought it was kind of strange though that even though Jade was tall enough for most of the kiddy rides she still needed a chaperone. Every time we've gone to a carnival I've bought her a wristband and watched her go on all the rides, even the giant slide by herself. We went on the log ride, which about one of the only adult rides she could go on. I didn't understand why she could go on that where you fall down the side of a slippery hill, but she could go on a ride that just went in flat circles into the air-it didn't even spin or anything. Maybe next year she will have grown the necessary couple of inches that prevented her from getting on almost every adult ride. She's a brave kid and she gets mad that she can't go on the rides that are "too big" for her, especially since I would be going on with her. The thing is another little girl was wearing platform shoes and could go on those rides. After awhile we started getting hungry and went to eat. By then it was getting pretty late so we decided to go to Underwater World once more and then we headed home. Jade fell asleep in the car on the way. I wanted to do the same thing, but I managed to stay awake until we got home.
